42 Life History --- Independence Missouri Visitor's Center Dedication
I want with a Church group to the dedication of the Independence Missouri Visitor's Center. It threaten to rain, but stopped during the outdoor part of the program, then resumed afterwards. They had some wonderful pictures inside. I got to meet Elder Mark E. Peterson and his wife. He was an Apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We were also there that afternoon, while on our honeymoon having driven from Utah and were only there by accident. We saw a miracle take place when President Joseph Fielding Smith commanded the element to be held back, which they were for the entirety of the program. We were informed later that several tornados were in and around the area. We heard the sirens. It was an amazing experience. It is good to get to know you. Thank you for this Blog.
I forgot to ask you if you remember President Tanner offering the dedicatory prayer as stated on the program. We thought it was offered by President Smith.
