When David and Amy were engaged, Amy’s brother told them about a home that was for sale for a good price close to his and his wife’s home. It was a fix-er-upper and it took them months to get it ready to live in. Day after day David, Amy, her mother, Garrett, Dan, and her family worked to get the house ready. Near the end, David put in some long nights finishing the painting. He was living in the house while he worked. Amy stayed at her parent’s home which was nearby and came over to work on the house.
Finally, the house was complete, the hot tub put in, and the furniture had been moved into the house. David’s grandparent’s, Lew and Arlene Pearson visited David in his home the afternoon before the wedding. David proudly gave them a tour of their home. His grandparents had come from California for the wedding even though they could not enter the sealing room in the Timpanogos Temple.
On October 3, 2002, David and Amy were sealed for time and all eternity in the House of the Lord. Dan stayed with their grandparents in the temple waiting room, then everyone greeted the newly sealed couple. We all went outside to take wedding photos.
A dinner was given at the Pizza Factory in Pleasant Grove by Garrett and me. Afterward, a reception was held at the home of Amy White Merrick’s parents in Pleasant Grove, Utah, then, leaving on their honeymoon, David and Amy began their life together.
